Speak to Your Mountain

Did you know you can speak to your mountain? Your mountain is whatever you are struggling with right now, be it sickness, financial lack, marital or family issues, anxiety or anything else that is robbing you of the fullness of life.

Jesus instructed His disciples, ‘Have faith in God.’ (Mark 11:22). In Paul’s letter to the Christians in Rome, he taught, ‘God has dealt to each one a measure of faith’ (Romans 12:3b). We have faith because God gave it to us!

After instructing the disciples to have faith in God, he continued, ‘For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, “Be removed and be cast into the sea,” and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore, I say to you, whatever things you ask for when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.’

Jesus was saying to the disciples, ‘Speak to your mountain.’ He had not long previously spoken to the unfruitful fig tree and it died. Jesus was saying more than, ‘Speak to your mountain.’ He was saying, ‘Speak to your mountain, whatever it is, sickness, financial lack… whatever.’

Don’t agree with your mountain. Don’t give power to your sickness. Never say, ‘My knee is stuffed.’ Never say, ‘My problems have defeated me.’

Be careful what you say. You have what you say.

Jesus says we can speak to a problem like sickness or finances and command it to be removed and cast into the sea. He says we are to believe and not doubt. And, if you struggle with doubt, ask God to help you.

Pray, then praise God for the answer.
